The Circling Justice exhibition was produced to honor International Conflict Resolution Day: October 20, 2016. Here in Minnesota Governor Dayton has proclaimed the third week in October “Conflict Resolution Week.”
Circling Justice seeks to celebrate efforts to illuminate new pathways to resolution, intentional peacemaking, mediation, and other creative processes which are growing in our community and are a welcome antidote to the culture of incarceration we've come accept as the norm.
The artists in Circling Justice create space for radical new ideas about the injustices we face within our broken systems. Circling Justice challenges the current understanding of the word “conflict” and poses broader meanings which move beyond the negative, reflecting the value of conflict and the importance of having tools and venues to engage it constructively.
Circling Justice will be generously hosted by the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley, MN and The Third Bird restaurant and gallery in Minneapolis, MN.
Exhibition Run Dates at The Third Bird: October 19 - November 28
